 Reviews of In Due Season

Carol Batey speaks to the trinity within all of us. Her words offer healing for body, mind and spirit. She not only shares her personal story, but also gives her readers clear and effective steps to achieve their own soul's purpose, reminding them that it will unfold in due season.

--Rev. Denise Yeargin, Minister, Unity Church for Positive Living, Old Hickory, Tennessee

Carol shares her intimate changes throughout her life: how she traded fear for passion and drove her passion with faith.  It's a refreshing text, which reminds us all that true happiness does not come from external material things, but rather, from within-by discovering one's purpose and steadfastly pursuing it.

--Michael Fair, Nashville Smooth Jazz recording artist

Carol Batey's motivation to reach her fitness goals is an inspiration that could definitely motivate others. Readers will get ideas from her exercise regimen that they could incorporate into their own programs.

--Glenn Jamison, Physical Education Teacher and Personal TrainerI

In Due Season is a fascinating read -- an intimate tale of one woman's personal journey to self-expression, with God's Spirit as her ever-present guide.  I highly recommend the book to those eager to learn how to find and express their purpose in life, as they  awaken to the Guide within..

--Bea Leff, Unity Ministerial student and Course in Miracles teacher

. . .  The author's example of courage, determination, and the positive results of sustained willpower is thrilling.  At the age of 50, she realized that she had never been so beautiful, inside and out.  That's because the soul reflects itself in our physical appearance.  This woman demonstrates that you can achieve whatever you wish if you plant the seeds of your desire firmly in your subconscious. . . .

. . . While she writes about her own life, she gtives by her example a practical approach to solving the inevitable travails of life and the constructive effects of a positive attitude. . . .

. . . I recommend this book as an excellent example of how we can accomplish what we desire if we strongly believe."

--Marie-Claire Wilson, author of The Spiritual Tarot: The Keys to the Divine Temple, in Oracle 20/20 magazine, Feb., 2008

The Bookmark review by, Larry G Johnson for The Carroll Star News Sept. 16 2007, states sometimes you can judge a book by its cover.  On the front of In Due Season, by Carroll County resident Carol S. Batey, are the title, three subtitles, one brief review of the book, a reference to Batey's other book, and a descriptive title of the author. Recogninzing herself as a "Lifestyle Coach", Batey's other book, Parents Are Lifesavers, is also referenced.

Embarking on her own "transformation" just prior to her fiftieth birthday. Batey is saying essentially, "I did it, and if I could do it, so can you.  Here's how I did it, and I believe that you can benefit from my insights and experiences".  Her other power words include "fortitude" and resilience".  It would be a job with a famous modeling agency that would uproot Carol Batey from Nashville and bring her to Carroll County.

In Due Season is an especially appropriate book for women facing middle age who have been caught in the trap to juggle the roles of being a traditional wife and mother while placing their callings on the back burner.  the author joins a rising chorus of women feeling their new found empowerment after redefining themselves apart from co-dependent relationships.
